Founded in 1989, CELT is the only privately-owned British Council accredited school in Cardiff. We offer a variety of English language courses throughout the year, with our principal aim being to offer students a professional package at reasonable cost.

Cardiff is an important university city and provides an ideal environment for studying as it does not have an over-concentration of foreign students learning English. As the capital city of Wales, Cardiff has something for everyone - theatres, concert halls, cinemas, sports centres, pubs and restaurants, as well as castles, museums and other historic buildings. It has excellent rail and bus links to the rest of the UK as well as an international airport.

CELT offers a welcoming and caring environment in which to study. We have two teaching centres in Cardiff (both in the city centre and only a few minutes apart). Our main teaching centre, situated in two Victorian houses in Salisbury Road, is where our adult year-round courses take place. Along with 8 well-equipped modern classrooms, our teaching centre has 2 computer rooms (with free e-mail and Internet access), a self-access library, a student lounge and an eating area.

During the summer our 'Holiday Language Course' for teenagers takes place in the nearby Cardiff University Union, which in addition to its modern spacious classrooms, has convenient on-site facilities such as a TV room, games room, cafeteria, and general shop.

We offer a standard and intensive 'General English Course' from September to June for adults and a summer course with a full activity programme for both adults and teenagers in July and August. Students attending the intensive 'General English Course' can prepare for both the IELTS and Cambridge Examinations. We can also arrange 'One-to-One' courses and combination programmes for students who need Business/Technical English.

Accommodation is with carefully selected host families. In the summer we can also place students in University Halls of Residence.
