Established in 1979, City of London College is a further and higher education college located in close proximity to the UK's financial centre. It is one of the longest-established and most respected private providers of education and training in London, with a clear focus on delivering high quality yet affordable courses for international students. Major programmes of study offered by the college can lead right up to Master's level through the College's strategic partnerships with UK universities. There is a consistent focus at all levels on acquiring professionally-relevant qualifications and developing vocational skills which will open doors in employment.

English Language provision reflects this philosophy. It is designed to be flexible, and to match the needs of learners from a range of starting points and aims. The courses range from full-time General English at a number of levels, through to supplementary classes designed to support students following other programmes. This provision includes Business English, English for Academic Purposes and IELTS preparation. It should be noted that when English is studied as a supplement to another programme within the College, the classes are entirely free of charge!

The College can also offer short periods of study specifically focusing on the development of fluency in English. These are tailored to individual preferences and starting-points, and can be a very cost-effective way of studying English in London, perhaps in conjunction with sightseeing or academic research in the locality? As an example, tuition costs for a four-week programme of study consisting of 15 hours of classes per week can be as low as £240.
